Totally Unrelated- Celebrity Sighting!

I went for a walk today and guess who I saw? Bill Gates! I was pretty excited, since I have never had a celebrity sighting before (if you don't count local news anchors).

Tell me about your celebrity sightings! Whom did you see and when? Let's live vicariously and have a little fun!

  1. I get to see quite a few celebrities because I live near L.A.! The best one was seeing Angline Jolie going into a baby store when she was pregnant. Always want to freak out but manage to hold it in and not scare the actors!

  2. Other than going to a concert, I have never seen a celebrity in person. (Not that I can recall anyway!) Bill Gates used to be my hero. He fell off his pedestal a while back, but it's cool that you saw him!

  3. Yeah, loads in concerts, but those don't count. I saw Johnny Dep once in London. I met Ziyi Zhang (of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon fame) in Beijing. I've met loads of famous politicians and presidents, our own and those of other countries. For me the best was getting to play games against the various world chess champions, from Kasparov and Karpov, to Kramnik and Anand. Most people wouldn't care about those last, though.

  4. I saw Neil Oliver the other day, filming around Oxford (although I guess you wouldn't know him unless you're British AND geeky enough to watch all the history documentaries on tv...!) Also met Bill Bailey (a comedian) wandering around Bath last Christmas and Tony Benn (a left-wing politician) a few years ago. None of them are *quite* as famous as Bill Gates, though! Nice...

  5. I saw Gary Collins in LAX in 1984. I walked and talked to the Prime Minister of Ontario, Canada on my way out to my car at work in 1991. We just so happened to be walking in the same direction through the Davis Center and we struck up a conversation while her security detail surrounded us. People were saying to me later, "Do you know who you were talking too?" As if I'm a complete idiot. I am stupid, but.... A couple of years ago, Carl and I picked up Nate Morton (House Band Drummer from Rock Star INXS and Rock Star Supernova, also for Cher, Richard Marx, etc) from his hotel, took him for coffee and deposited him to where he needed to go. He told us that the next time he's in town we need to hang more. He's a good friend now. There are others. I'm the person that says, "Hey, that person looks like....," when really it is the actual celebrity. -Sue (the phantom follower)
